Hi Lisa, and thanks for the warm welcome. This will be my first conference. Can you give me some pointers on what to bring, wear, etc. Thanks.

Sure. Dress is business-casual. I don’t think of the Summit as a conference. It’s more than a conference, with its transformational qualities… now in its 21st year.

Of the 375 satellite locations around the country, we are very fortunate to have Lakeshore Community Church sponsor the event, allowing Rochester area residents to attend. Their auditorium holds 600. They do a terrific job hosting the event with 100+ volunteers each year.

Thirteen stellar faculty will present on a wide range of topics pertaining to leadership development. Bring a notebook or your laptop for notes. There will be plenty to absorb!

I attended The Summit for the first time in 2015. It was a life changing event and would strongly encourage others to attend!

Sherolyn, can you explain in what ways the GLS has been a life changing event for you? What do you hope to achieve at this year’s conference?

        Joyce,
Thanks for asking that question. The Summit made me want to be a better leader and a better woman. The speakers encouraged me to define the quality of my relationships. Patrick Lencioni, a catholic, provided me with team building skills that I have put to work at The LightHeart. Susan Cain and Tyler Perry both stressed the importance of quiet and getting away from people. As a result in the last year I have spent more time by myself in nature and spent more time in meditation. Carly Fiorina said everything is possible and I know with God it is!

          Joyce,
I have spent a great deal of time preparing for this years Summit, making myself familar with the speakers’ previous talks on Youtube. This is something I did not do last year. I am very excited to hear Dr. Brene Brown, Jim Collins, and Liz Wiseman. Brian Houston, from Hillsong Ministries, intrigues me and I am very much looking forward to his talk. I know this Summit will recharge me, motivate me, and provide me with many tools to be the legacy leader I want to be!
